The Department of Public Administration was established in the year 1962. The subject of Public Administration made its debut at the Under-Graduate level. Since then it is being offered as one of the optional subjects to the B.A. students. The basic objective of the department is to impart skills and knowledge among the students and promote better understanding of the nature, problems and potentials of modern society in the realm of governance and administration. The study of Public Administration brings awareness about the administrative processes and procedures which is very essential to get access to administrative service. It equips the individual to deal with administrative apparatus of government which has become a part and parcel of the modern life. It is the most popular and widely preferred subject in various competitive examinations conducted at National and State levels. It is opted by large number of students appearing for Civil Services examination.
